What got you into/back into LEGO®:
Of course, I played with LEGO® as a child, but it was really the harry potter books and then LEGO® releasing the first sets in 2001 that got me going. At that time I just used to get the sets and build them, but I managed to collect all the HP sets until my dark age in around 2010 missing the last few of the early ones which I deeply regret. When the new wave came in Summer 2018 I was completely hooked again! Sorting out my old stuff and building sets was a massive stress reliever for me, and now I really love being creative with MOCs, all within the Wizarding World.
I’ve only done one big show as of Feb 2020, but I’m planning and working on the next one in March 2020 (The Milton Keynes Brick Festival). My background is in Physics and engineering, and, more recently, in marketing and number crunching. So I love the technical and design elements of LEGO®. I particularly love researching special building techniques, even though I’m not that good quite yet…
Why do you like being a member of Brick Central:
What’s the point of being a nerd and not being able to talk about it! Most of my friends are completely normal (i.e. Muggles) and aren’t really into me going on about of the beauty of a Brick, but my Brick Central friends don’t mind! I love the social side of it, and really enjoy catching up all my LUG friends at the meets and shows.
